Practical guide

Hand an approved engagement to delivery

Transfer the terms and unresolved dependencies, not only a sales-stage label.

ContractCanvas insights

Start from the approved version

The delivery lead needs the exact scope and fee that were reviewed. Include deliverables, exclusions, acceptance and client responsibilities. A handover note that merely says “deal won” leaves delivery staff to rediscover the promises.

Identify the first decision

Name the kickoff contact, required inputs and the action that can begin immediately. If data access or client scheduling remains unresolved, show the dependency and its owner. The handover should distinguish a commercial commitment from an operational prerequisite.

Check the economics privately

Review the planned effort and cost assumptions with the delivery lead. Confirm that the staffing plan is feasible and that internal rates stay out of client-facing material. Capture any concern before work begins, while the original assumptions are still clear.

Follow a later change

When an additional output is requested, link it to the engagement and preserve the prior version. Record the proposed scope, estimated effort, commercial decision and any revised timing. ContractCanvas demonstrates this handover and change relationship locally; it does not send instructions to a client or supplier.
