Practical guide

Prepare a useful contribution to a consulting community

A focused methods discussion can be worthwhile without becoming a disguised sales presentation.

Offer a specific subject

A useful proposed session could examine how an extra workshop changes effort, fee and the approved scope. Supply a sample case and a transparent calculation. Participants should leave with a method they can use in their existing tools.

Ask the organizer first

CMC-BC publishes professional events and community information. Review the relevant route and propose the audience, learning objective, length and facilitator. Membership, speaking opportunities and sponsorship are separate arrangements; none is implied by including the organization in a research list.

Keep the discussion independent

Disclose the facilitator’s product interest. Avoid collecting attendees’ details without an appropriate basis or treating attendance as product endorsement. If a demo is relevant, make it a clearly identified optional part of the session.

Prepare the follow-through

Use a one-page scope-change exercise and a short feedback question about the method. Ask permission before quoting a participant. ContractCanvas has prepared a contribution concept and teaching material; no community session, partnership or participant result is claimed.
